Drugged into a ZOMBIE!

We all know and love the Walking Dead, the walkers are scary, but they are only fictional, or are they?

Drugs can make you do stupid things, but rapper Big Lurch (Antron Singleton) took it a bit further. On April 10, 2002 Big Lurch and his roommate Tynisha Ysais took a drug named PCP. The neighbors called the police and told them, that they heard thrashing sounds, and a heathed argument, followed by screaming. when the police arrived the found Tynishas body, with her chest torn open, and a three-inch blade broken off in her scapula. But her comes the zombie part, they found teeth marks on her face and her lungs, which were torn from her chest.

Big Lurch was found wandering the streets naked, and covered in blood, and is now serving a life sentence in jail for murder. When he got sober, he claimed the last thing he remembered was having to save the world from the devil.

Is this a real life zombie, or just a cannibalistic psychopath? comment your answer!

  1. Loved the article, fantastic topic!

Real life zombie or cannibalistic psychopath? I’d say the former but I have reservations. PCP, or Phencyclidine, is a hallucinogen. When ingested it affects the users serotonin, which controls a lot of bodily and mental functions. From drugabuse.gov: mood, sensory perception, sleep, hunger, body temperature, sexual behavior, muscle control, pain perception, responses to the environment, emotion, learning and memory.

That said, short term there are a lot of things that can go wrong. To name a few relevant to this discussion: Intensified feelings and sensory experiences, spiritual experiences, paranoia—extreme and unreasonable distrust of others, and psychosis—disordered thinking detached from reality.

I don’t want to call Antron a cannibalistic psychopath, because those with Psychopathy are aware of what they do when the do it. They plan meticulously, and I’ve not read a story where a diagnosed psychopath has taken drugs (Psychopaths exercise control in all faucets of their lives.) I would go so far as to say that Antron became a ‘real life zombie’ because it was drugs that made him this way. In some sort of futuristic universe this could happen, and though I hope it doesn’t, I’d prefer to know that ‘zombieism’ can be circumvented by staying away from drugs. There’s one for the elementary school ‘D.A.R.E.’ people!

      1. I think a lot of people use ‘psychopath’ to term those they think are insane and unpredictable. These are more characteristics of a sociopath, but I wouldn’t fault anyone for saying ‘psychopath.’ It’s pretty much expected. 🙂
